Abstract
2818 patients were included in the study which dealt with the clinical results of fusafungine on the clinical picture of infectious diseases during 7-day observations. In 32% of cases anti-inflammatory drugs, and in 14% of cases general antibiotics were also used. The first positive results (p.<0.01) were observed on the second day of the treatment (sore throat and rhinitis). During 1week treatment 95% acute rhinitis and 88% tonsillitis (without streptococcal angina) disappeared. In case of sinusitis positive effects were observed in 91% of patients. We did not find any differences in the preparation effectiveness in the treatment of both viral and bacterial infections (91% and 87% of very good and good results, respectively). The comparison of the treatment with non-steroid anti-inflammatory drugs and/or antibiotics did not differ significantly from the monotherapy with fusafungine. In general, the preparation was described as very good in 44% of cases, as good - in 44%, as poor - in 12%. Only 4% of patients did not tolerate fusafungine treatment. Local side effects occurred in 8% of cases.
